The following quote was pulled from ‘Destiny 1’, an online video game released in 2014.
“To rend one’s enemies is to see them not as equals but as objects — hollow of spirit and meaning.”

This quote was used to guide the themes and aesthetics of the project.
“The Skeletal Button”
Clicking without seeing
An element of the project was “hi-tech, lo-life”. In the context of the project, this means that while technology may be advanced and complex, the elements that the user directly interacts with are hyper-minimal.
In this world, energy is put into systems and functions rather than aesthetics, indirectly creating a unique individual style.
A minimalist button design and font choice helped to achieve this.
This style of button is mostly invisible aside from the corners. This creates a button without a button.
It distinguishes the button’s area without cluttering the user’s view.

Plaque samples
These plaques were created to mimic those in museums and were placed on the wall next to my props to give them context.
Designing the landing page / logo
Establishing unification
I wanted to create a logo that was simple yet featured elements that gave clues to the nature of the work.
This symbol would serve as a subtle visual introduction to the project.
The end goal was to have a defining symbol, similar to a country’s flag or crest, that would strike the viewer with a sense of imposition and influence over the rest of the environment.

The final symbol
This design highlights the foundational aspects of the fictional world.
The single vertical line in the center stands for a division of society and of opportunity.
The horizontal lines represent the different levels in society that, while they may be imbalanced in surface-level traits, they are balanced in all other ways as we are all human in the end.
Four diamonds represent the four hundred years in which the grave was deemed a “declining” planet after which it earned the title of “recovering”.
The entire circle being split in half reminds us that every day we are met with decisions to make and we always have the choice between light and dark; morally right and morally wrong.
